OPENING OF THE TABLE GRAPE AND PEAR MARKET IN THAILAND

The Thai government will reopen the market for Spanish table grapes and pears after negotiations and a specific audit.

The next step will be to submit the proposal to the Plant Quarantine Committee for processing and official publication after which it will come into force. It is expected that the markets will be open for the next season.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food will publish the information and regulations for the registration processes for future table grape and pear export seasons.

Last 6th october, we had the pleasure of sharing a lunch meeting with the Secretary of State for Trade, Ms. Xiana Méndez, where we discussed about “The positioning of Spain in Southeast Asia: objectives, means and resources”. The lunch meeting was also attended by the Deputy Director General for Asia, Non-EU Europe and Oceania, Ms. Laura Jarrillo.

It was a great satisfaction for us that they accepted our invitation and exchanged opinions on Southeast Asia with Asempea’s members.
