HALAL IN FIGURES
The Islamic Board and the Halal Institute will hold the presentation of the “Halal in Figures” report as well as the presentation of the “Halal Spain” awards on 5 October at the Casa Asia headquarters in Madrid.
INDONESIA: TRADE EXPO INDONESIA (TEI) 2022
The 37th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2022 is the largest trade event, and this year will be held in a hybrid format. There will be product exhibitions, trade forums, business matching, business counseling, and international business forum, as well as the signing of trade agreements between suppliers and buyers. TEI will feature 7 main categories, namely Manufactured Products, Fashion & Accessories, Health Care & Beauty, Medical Equipment, Furniture & Home Decor, Food & Beverage Products, Digital, and Services.
The 37th TEI 2022 will be held from 19th to 23rd October 2022 with the face-to-face format (offline) and from October 19th to December 19th, 2022, virtually (online).

«THAI NITE IN MADRID»
Yesterday night, we attended the event “Thai Nite in Madrid” organised by the Thai Embassy in Madrid, where we had the opportunity to learn more about Thai culture.
THURSDAY’S COFFEE WITH MR. EMILIO DE MIGUEL, AMBASSADOR ON SPECIAL MISSION FOR THE INDO-PACIFIC
On the 29th of September we will hold a new Thursday Coffee with Mr. Emilio de Miguel, Director of Casa Asia’s Centre in Madrid and Ambassador-at-Large for the Indo-Pacific, who will speak on “Does the EU have a place in the Indo-Pacific? The seminar will be exclusively for Asempea members.
OPPORTUNITIES IN THE DEFENSE SECTOR IN PHILIPPINES
Last Tuesday, 13 September, we had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the opportunities presented by the defence sector in the Philippines from Silvia Torices de la Varga and the Defence Attaché in the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam, Colonel Javier Martín. The event was organised in collaboration with the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines – La Cámara.
The seminar also counted with the experience of two Spanish companies in the field: ARQUIMEA ADS and Indra.
The Department of National Defence (DND) is the executive department of the Philippine Government responsible for the protection against external and internal threats to the peace and security of the country. The Armed Forces of the Philippines are undergoing a Modernisation Programme, is expected to take 15 years to complete. This project started in 2012 and will continue until 2027 under Republic Act (RA) 10349 or Revised Armed Forces Modernisation Programme.
